BOOKS MAKE GOOD GIFTS!

This is the final blog for 2009! With the winter vacation coming up, I hope you can cozy up with a book!

This week I am in the district on Tuesday, December 22nd. I will back again next year [January 4, 2010].

Tuesday, December 22, 2009:
4th Grades: We go to the computer lab and log on to a fun children's website - www.akidsheart.com.
1st Grades: We listen to the story, The Night Before Christmas by Clement C. Moore and illustrated by Bruce Whatley. Then listen to the story, The Mouse before Christmas by Michael Garland. They will have a take home sheet to color with the little mouse on it from the second story.

Did you know that Clement Moore wrote his poem about jolly old St. Nick in 1822?!? That makes the poem 187 years old! Who hasn't heard it and who can't recite some lines from it? It's traditional as old Mr. Scrooge or the Grinch at this time of year.

When we return to school after winter break, I will meet with 3Bruns on the 4th and KJass and 2Tangeman on the 6th.

Until we meet again, Happy Holidays!

Let it snow! Let it snow! Let it snow!

The snowy days are really here!

This week I am in the WH on Monday and Friday.

Monday, DEC 14:
4th Grade - I will be reading old time holiday favorites to the classes.
1st Grade - Children will listen to The Three Bears' Christmas by Kathy Duval. It's a holiday twist on the familiar Goldie Locks and the Three Bears story.
Friday, DEC 18:
I plan to be in Kanawha to visit with the 7th & 8th graders about cyber bullying and internet safety.

Next week I will be in WH on Tuesday for classes with 1st and 4th grades.

Books make excellent gifts!
